Three quick steps

Start with daily life. Then check reality.

01

Choose a time horizon

Short stays focus on timing, company and your daily rhythm. Long-term mode adds work, family, healthcare and housing.

02

Choose between two good lives

No yes-or-no questions. Commute, space, weather, energy and quiet have to compete.

03

See the fit and the cost

Every result says why it fits and what may put you off. No mystery percentage.

Three days and three years are different questions

First, choose how long you are staying

Travel / short stay

A trip or a few months away

Timing, accommodation, getting around, food, nights alone and who is coming.

Long-term life

Make an ordinary Tuesday work

Work, commuting, family, healthcare, renting or buying, and having a life after work.

Not a “most livable” list

Every city strength comes with a trade-off

Dense opportunity often comes with expensive housing. A larger home may require a longer commute. Warm humidity and crisp seasons have no universal winner.

The goal is not to find China’s number one city. It is to find a city aligned with your current priorities and worth investigating further.

A few direct answers

Are eight questions enough?

For entertainment, maybe. For a useful city match, we use 9 short-stay questions or 12 long-term questions, with a few extras for children, parents, solo travel and housing.

Will reality calibration tell me whether I can afford a home?

Not in the current Beta. Until official, district-level and current market data is connected, your budget becomes a city-by-city checklist rather than a fake affordability verdict.

Does the recommendation call a large language model?

No. Every answer weight, city score and diversity rule is fixed and auditable. A model may later help organize evidence and explain results, but it should not invent the winning city.

Are my answers stored?

No. Answers are calculated in the current browser state, with no sign-in, and cannot be restored by the site after a refresh or close.

There is no perfect city — only a better answer for your life now.
